Biography The artist Gideon Fridman's biography

Gideon was born in 1938 in Tel-Aviv and grew up there.
In 1962 he came to Arad as part of his job as a carpenter and stayed to live there.
Later he also worked as a contractor and was responsible for many projects in the town.
Married to Sara and has 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
Gideon started his painting career at the age of 16.
His father was a carpenter and therefore was also drawn to the art of sculpting in stone and wood.
Created the "Potato sculpture" at the entrance to Arad that became during the years Arad's symbol.
About 10 years ago started to sculpt with glass and developed various techniques in this area, which he drew from his works with different materials.
With a special powder he developed and an oven he designed and adjusted to his needs, he makes the glass act as he wishes it to.
